The Sr. Product Designer will work with internal teams, such as Product, Engineering, and other designers to build a beautiful product, illustrate a concept, prototype an idea, and create exceptional digital work. Together with the Product Design team and product leadership, this individual will contribute to the design direction while assisting, supporting, and collaborating with our team of designers. This position will be responsible for Black
Line’s Design System.
Roles and Responsibility (list in order of importance)
• Manage Black
Line design system (75%):
• Maintain and update the Black
Line Design System through the lifecycle of re-usable or global components/models and create new components as they evolve over iterations
• Collect and organize all the reusable complements guided by clear standards that can assemble to build any number of applications
• Set up and collect success metrics for design system
• Evangelize design system adoption
• Own design system governance process
• Communicate with engineers, product managers, designers and other stakeholders
• Conduct & analyze usability testing sessions
• Conduct industry research and stay up-to-date on best practices, competitor UI designs and emerging technologies
• Lead design efforts across multiple engagements and be the design partner for assigned product vertical(s)
• Deliver hands-on design execution from conceptualization to the final product, including CJM, sketches, user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes
• Collaborate and align with product management and engineering teams
• Contribute to scope, estimate and plan design efforts
• Emphasize and advocate users
• Perform other duties as assigned
Required
Qualifications
Years of Experience in Related Field: 5–7 years as an interaction, user experience, UI, or a product designer
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or other related discipline or equivalent experience
Design/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong UI design and design system experience
• Expert knowledge of responsive design
• Expert knowledge in Figma
• A knowledge of design processes and methodology
• Experience with HTML/CSS and JS
• Knowledge in Zero Height
• Competency in user research, user needs evaluation, metrics and measurements, IA, interaction design, prototyping, visual design, stakeholder management, design strategy and planning, and workshop facilitation
• Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills to articulate concepts, feedback and rationale and promote design led initiatives
• Kind, positive, easy to with team player with strong work ethics
• Strong design portfolio to demonstrate above qualifications
• Formal portfolio presentation is required during interview

• Experience working with large data sets/volumes of information
• Experience with lean UX (rapid discovery, prototyping, testing and iteration)
• Mobile UI experience
• Enterprise SaaS experience
• Experience in legacy system transformation
• Experience in designing and maintaining design systems within a large product organization
