Position Overview:
The Industrial Designer is part of our industrial design team, the crew responsible for crafting all our packaging designs. The potential candidate is a world-class designer with plenty of experience both creating advanced concepts and collaborating with a team. They will bring a fresh perspective to every project and have the design skills to create products that are truly memorable. They must be organized, efficient, and thrive on working with other designers and engineers to create beautiful products.
Responsibilities:
Design packaging systems based on rough sketches, minimal input, and personal experience.
Design projects from early concept through production, taking responsibility for creative output, schedule, and maintaining design integrity from start to finish.
Create breath-taking presentation deliverables that may include research summaries, sketches, user scenarios, product renderings, and appearance models.
Mentor and inspire other designers on the team.
Keep design leadership apprised of project status and issues affecting projects gn team.
Collaborate with members of the Engineering, Graphics, Product Management, and R&D teams to execute on project goals. Work closely with the Finance and Executive teams to provide status updates on projects as required.
Represent the design team in meetings and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
Able to maintain and develop relationships with both existing and potential clients.
Essential

Regularly introduce and champion new ideas, end user solutions and product platforms.
Regularly introduce patent-able features and product concepts.
Complete prototype and sample production for clients.
Proven ability to direct the convergence of one l design approaches within cross functional teams.
Conceptualize and develop new packaging having a high level of difficulty and complexity.
Prepare and create high quality presentation materials through different media.
Highly developed public speaking and presentation skills.
Accountable for the successful design implementation of a major package solutions from concept to completion.
Influencing project teams through persuasion and communication.
Business acumen:
Highly Developed understanding of key metrics, business drivers and functional roles
Assist external vendors to accelerate idea generation, project proposals, timelines, and management.
Maintain a developed network of design professionals, consultants, prototypes, and insights specialists.
Advanced knowledge of competitive product, retail environments and market influences.
Publishes and fosters communication of current trends and events within project teams.
Education al
Requirements:
· 5+ years of relevant experience in corporate or consulting design.
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Industrial Design or equivalent experience
Qualifications and Skills
3+ years of Packaging design experience.
5+ years of progressive experience in the field of industrial design (and the portfolio to prove it).
Great sketching, form development, CAD modeling, rendering, and graphic skills.
Fluent in relevant software (Adobe CC, 3D CAD, rendering packages, MS Office, etc.), tools, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Thorough understanding and extensive hands-on experience with all phases of the design process- from trend research and design strategy to concept development and manufacturing execution.
Excellent verbal, written, visual communication and presentation skills.
Willingness to work closely with and take direction from design managers, and other key stakeholders.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to make physical prototypes.
· This work be performed remotely
· 5-10% travel required
