Dog Town

“I bought the poster twin beds [second one not shown] long before I had a son. I knew they’d be perfect for a little boy’s room one day,” says Mandy Reeves of her Tennessee home via Country Living. She painted them a handsome shade of gray-green (Rosemary by Sherwin-Williams) that will easily transition from tot to teen. The girl’s room in that same loft has a magical and dreamy aesthetic achieved with a light and airy palette of whites and blush. A hand made swan by Tamar Mogendorf accents the wall.

For the girl’s bedroom, a playful style in the children’s room is centered around vintage artwork, such as the cast aluminum antlers purchased at auction. The side chair is vintage Milo Baughman, reupholstered in Rogers & Goffigon fabric, and the chest is from CB2. The accent table is from West Elm. A floor pillow, also from West Elm, enhances the youthful atmosphere.

Loft Love

The style of the children’s bedroom in this restored rectory complements the overall design, but it leaves room for a little playfulness. The trundle beds come from Tasha Beds; the bed cushions, from Neptune. Beside the beds, the dome wall lights are from Original BTC, and overhead, the star-printed lampshade is from Jim Lawrence. A Balineum laundry basket serves as a catch-all space for storage and dirty laundry.

The daughter’s bedroom in this Hampton’s townhouse features a vintage daybed upholstered in a Zimmer & Rohde embroidery, a Swedish cabinet, and a 1940s rocker found at a local antiques shop and re-upholstered in romantic floral. The shade fabric is by Pindler.

In the Paris apartment she shares with her partner and their children, French fashion designer Alix Thomsen arranged a collection of vintage and contemporary toys and superhero figures on the shelves above her son’s bed. A boldly striped fabric attached to the wall serves as the headboard.

In a bedroom at fashion stylist Meredith Melling’s family retreat on Martha’s Vineyard, which was designed by Ariel Ashe and architect Reinaldo Leandro, the bunk beds and walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Fairy Tale Blue, the throws are from Pottery Barn Kids and the rug is Moroccan.

A black lacquered headboard, a punching bag suspended from the ceiling, vertical shades, and overhead track lighting complete the bachelor-pad vibe.
